Discount Brokerages

Have you noticed an increase in discount brokerages in your market? Do you find yourself competing more and more with discount REALTORS® when you go out on a listing presentation? The new discounted business models have entered the marketplace and in some instances, the negative advertising between the full-service brokers and the limited-service brokers have caused consumers to become confused. In order to provide the level of customer service that fills the consumers need, you must ask yourself:

  1. Are you offering full-service to your potential sellers?
  2. Do you fully present your marketing strategies during your listing presentations?
  3. Do you detail the consequences of limited-service vs full-service to your potential seller?

By preparing and presenting a complete listing presentation including sample marketing ideas, comparative market evaluations, tracking reports on the effectiveness of your marketing strategies, and a plan that outlines each step of the selling process you put yourself ahead of your competition. The key is to focus on what you and your marketing will do for the perspective client, show them how working with you will actually net them more on the sale of their home then going with a discount brokerage.

I will implement a listing presentation that outlines my marketing plan and defines each step of my listing process. Armed with the knowledge, statistics and language to communicate why a full service brokerage is the best option for the seller, the "discount broker" objection will no longer concern me.
